So how do you get your free Allure of Darkness or Dark creator?
You wait till:
US Release: 23th June 2009
Europe Release: 19th June 2009
The Raging Battle Special Edition boxes will have 1 of the above two cards in it.
Getting a set of Allures will definitely be easy and deck choices will evolve with the greater availability of these cards.
Summer 2009 might just be the darkest summer yet and games might be taken later so people can drop those Dark Creators they were given.

UDE vs Konami
Truthfully though, if UDE had it's way, I doubt either of these cards would be in that special edition box.
If you look at UDE's history with S.E boxes, you'll see a long run of terrible card choices.
The only semi decent cards I can remember is Hera and Dark Grepher. But those two choices won't make up for the pile of horrible choices UDE opted to give us.
I applaud Konami for being generous and giving us two amazing cards that were getting harder and harder to find. In the end they are helping to make a better metagame by making more cards available to more people.

Why they won't start
It makes the game more fun for everyone and entices more players to start playing.
The number one reason I hear for people not wanting to play is they don't want to invest that kind of money in a card game they might end up quitting.
I can't blame them, if you want to be competitive you need to have atleast a mirror force, and a number of other pricey cards for your deck.
Breaking down that barrier a small bit will allow an influx of more players to join the fun.
With those new players will come more money for konami, better tournaments for the existing players, and a wider variety of deck choices.

Raging Battle Coverage
Speaking of that new set going to be released in May, UniMetagame will soon start offering articles about key cards we all might want to pull.
Mid March may be a bit too early but with all the new cards being released, we're hoping the early start will give us lots of time for analysis and allow us to cover most of the cards properly.
So stay tuned for Raging Battle coverage and see what Konami has in store for us, ready to shake our Metagame!

Terrible card choices? Let's look at the past few sets (5Ds era):
TDGS: Herklinos and EEV
CSOC: Il Blud and Harvest Angel
CRMS: Goblin Zombie and Necroface
RGBT: Allure and Dark Creator
With the exception of Eradicator, the 7 other cards are very good and at least have their place in their respective decks. If not for the new banlist, Blud and GZ would have been super rare steals, while Necroface still is.
The SE promos are at least better than the GX pack promos.
I love how you added CRMS and RBGT.
Why not include your list from Light of distruction onwards, or PTDN onwards.
What a biased post, and absoulte B.S.
You include 2 cards, NOT released yet, that Unimetagame SAYS IS GOOD, in your 7, but don't include light of destruction or phantom of chaos.
You also include Crimson crisis, which is recent, and he specifically is talking about older sets, not recent ones.
Again the commenter before me is an idiot, including cards that Unimetagame themselves SAID were good, and NEW sets that ARE NOT COVERED in that post!!!!
What complete and utter B.S, everyone knows the last Special edition boxes have been horrible with the exception of Hera.
While I agree that LODT and PTDN (and others) promo cards were pretty bad (although Phantom of Chaos is OK), I started with TDGS simply because it was the first pack of the 5D's era. It wasn't meant to be biased, but rather it was a nice fit to use packs from the series, not to mention packs that are 6 months old.
Hopefully you noticed where I mentioned that the promos are better than the GX packs. LODT and PTDN were packs for the GX era. If you think about it, the promo cards for sets like LODT, PTDN, GLAS, and all those post-STON sets have had one-of-a-kind cards. The SE boxes that had reprints...reprinted good cards. Even back in the IOC SE days, you could get a Cylinder or Chaos Emperor for $10. With the SEs reprinting cards again, it actually makes sense that they are reprinting decent, if not good cards.
tl;dr: Yes, some of the SEs have had some pretty bad cards, but since 5D's, the SE boxes have gone back to reprinting good cards.
