(Konami delivers big in the second edition of Gold Series. One of the few packs that will instantly become a must buy.)- Gold Sarcophagus (One of the two main cards people will buy Gold Series 2 for. This powerful cards allows to remove from game a card for two turns, and then to add it to your hand. It helps especially when you need a limited card for a combo, like the obvious Heavy Storm - Future Fusion - Overload Fusion that leads to Chimeratech OTKs)
- Dark Armed Dragon (The other reason people will buy Gold Series 2. It's easy to get, and its powers can easily be played everywhere, as long as you have three Dark monsters in the graveyard. Oh, and take note that this version is way cheaper than the Secret Rare one, if you want to buy one)
- Des Volstgalph (that SJC prized Dragon is powered-up by Normal and Quick-Play Spells, and then deals additionnal damage for destroying monsters. Definitely a good card to play, but Dragon decks will prefer Prime Material over this)
- Test Tiger (Gladiator Beasts' players should know it well by now. A powerful card that allows Gladiator Beasts' tags without fighting. Mostly summoned from hand or by Rescue Cat's effect)
- Sangan (Yeah, good old Sangan in Gold rarity. I have to say this version is, for me, the most beautiful Sangan we ever had (assuming Sangan is beautiful, of course...). Definitely a staple everyone can be happy to get)
- Phoenix Wing Wind Blast (rumored to be a common in this series, but finally, a Gold rare. This card, mainly played in Gladiator Beasts and Lightsworns, is known for an easy Stardust counter from the days of TeleDAD)
- Raiza the Storm Monarch (with this at 2, players will more than surely keep their copies of it, so its value will surely increase, keep an eye on it ! This powerful Monarch has the same effect as Phoenix Wing Wind Blast, but with no cost, and its 2400 ATK makes him a powerhouse)
- Volcanic Rocket A powerful addition to any Volcanic Burn deck, it surprises me to see it there, but well, it's not that bad at all, seeing how it allows you to get the master card of the deck, Blaze Accelerator)
- Elemental Hero Captain Gold (Yeah, as Skyscraper was in, its searcher had to be in it too. In addition, this little baby is sometimes too played in Big City decks. And I think it's rather fun having Captain Gold in Gold Rarity)
- Necro Gardna (Another powerful card that's been released. We had the Super Rare (the original), the Rare (CP08 reprint), and now the Gold Rare. Definitely a good occasion for Lightsworn players to get their hands on some)
- Royal Firestorm Guards (another Secret Rare from Gladiator's Assault, somehow powerful in Burn decks, by giving them means to get back their monsters while giving them drawing possibilities. Might give it a try once it'll be out.)
- Prime Material Dragon (I MUST GET THREE OF THESE !!! Gold Rarity is definitely nicer than Super Rarity form me, and this Dragon is definitely powerful. Its ability will protect your other monsters from destruction, at a discarding cost, and you won't have to fear Burn decks as long as it's on the field)
- Caius the Shadow Monarch (Well, it's a good second chance for those who missed the opportuniy to get some in the Structure Deck, and Caius is still a powerful monster, even bypassing Stardust protection.)
- Mind Control (A powerful card for Synchro summoning and getting rid of an opponent's monster. Definitely a good card to play.)
- Future Fusion (Izual desires, Gold Series delivers ! Another good card I'll use in some of my decks, like many players)
- Veil of Darkness (An excellent cards for Yubel decks, allowing them to replace one of them in the Deck for an additionnal draw every turn)
- Solemn Judgment (This all-powerful Counter Trap is back, and we'll see many players with it, now !)
- Bottomless Trap Hole (Another powerful trap, for those missing it in the Structure Deck Dark Emperor. It's seeing more and more play, so why not give it a try ?)
Commons :
- Phantom Beasts (Rock-Lizard, Cross-Wing, Thunder-Pegasus and Wild-Horn. They were previously game promos, so they're now disponible for every player wanting to try a deck around them... Who will ?)
- Skyscraper (This card, sometimes seen in Big City decks, helps the Elemental Heroes theme, supporting monsters such as Stratos, Wildheart, Ocean and Captain Gold, also present in Gold Series 2)
- The four other Monarchs (Thestalos, Mobius, Grandmarg and Zaborg. Only Kuraz is missing, but he's announced in the next Structure Deck, so it's not that terrible.)
- The Six Samurai (Yaichi, Kamon, Yariza, Nisashi, Zanji, Irou) and their support cards (Shien's Castle of Mist, Spirit of the Six Samurai, Chamberlain of the Six Samurai, Return of the Six Samurai)Classic, but good cards (Volcanic Shell, Elemental Hero Neos Alius, Snipe Hunter, Treeborn Frog, Giant Trunade)
- Cards that'll only be needed in certain decks (Winged Rhynos, Lord Poison, Rigorous Reaver, Warrior Elimination, Exile of the Wicked, Sonic Bird, Lekunga, Senju of the Thousand Hands)

Analysis
This is the final blow to all the Konami haters.
For all the people who said this game would die under Konami, instead this pack brings your demise.
This pack is for all the writers on metagame.com who ranted and complained about Konami.
All the efforts that Konami has made while controlling this game have been revolutionary and have been a slap in the face to everyone who doubted them.
There are reasons why Metagame fell and Konami is still kicking at full steam and some of those reasons could be a lack of logic and an inability to swallow pride.
That and the fact that Metagame's predictions fell way short of the mark on a number of occasions.
(Examples:
(1) Gadets would destroy all decks and become tier 1
(2) The best tuner would be Junk Synchron
(3) Lightsworn would automatically be tier one after the March Ban list, etc etc)
This pack is a symbol for all that should be for North American yugioh(TCG) and ALL THAT IS GOING ON IN THE OCG!
Konami deserves the greatest amount of thanks that can be given for revitalizing yugioh.
Already at tournaments around me I'm seeing all sorts of new faces pop up and we can thank no other than Konami for that.
The card prices have been driven down and the apocalypse didn't come. Is that surprising? It isn't for those that knew it wouldn't happen in the first place.
The UniMetagame team extends a warm thanks and holds great gratitude for the recent actions of Konami. Keep doing what you do best and keep proving the nay sayers wrong.
Yugioh is about having fun and wasting large sums of money should never be a part of that equation. It was never an issue in the OCG and now it ceases to be an issue in the TCG.
UDE the only thing left to say is good riddance.

Well, my part of the article has been updated on the forum, so please feel free to check it there, until UniMetagame will update this one.
Found the updated article on the forums and updated it :)
Good job on the increased amount of analysis, it will definitely benefit a lot of the readers who see the article! :)
I don't remember Metagame saying anything about the March banlist... primarily because it hasn't existed for months. I don't remember anyone ever saying that Gadgets would be the best deck. I also don't remember Metagame saying *anything* about Konami. I *do* remember Metagame saying that Junk Synchron was the best Tuner in the starter deck that it came in. Which is true. I'm really not sure what your beef with a site that doesn't exist anymore is, but it really doesn't have any place in a site that's supposed to help people.
Dont whine about old page. Show us that you can make it better (finally - you had enough time to establish and how many articles per month ?). Good players know that the game is that counts not company.
It's o.k if you don't remember the last days of Metagame's life.
That's when they said Konami was making a mistake taking the game from UDE.
They also said Junk Synchron was the Best Tuner hands down, not just in the structure.
It seems if i relied on your memory i wouldn't remember most of what Metagame published.
Remind me not to go based off your memories, actually you might forget so never mind.
~~~~~~~~~~~
As for publishing articles, I've published more articles than every metagame writer that existed.
They have more articles than me because they had a bigger writing staff. Our writing staff consists of only about 4 people.
Any other problems i can address?
Sorry but I think you make the same mistake now. UDE owned the site so there is no wonder what they did. But I think you should concentrate on the game and not how konami is wonderfull. It is all about the game not the company and konami now must show that it is better as ude. I think we should go with the game and wait 2-3 years and then we can judge how konami is doing this.
The Gold Series 2 is great. From 5 opened displays I had 4 x Gold Sarcophagus and 4 x Dark Armed Dragon.
Jason Grabher Meyer wrote and published at least one article every week except for holidays for 5 years. He probably had something between 250 and 300 writing credits just on THAT site, let alone anything else he writes for. That you can even consider claiming that you've published more articles than every metagame writer that existed and blame your lack of content on the fact that they had more writers shows that YOU are the unreliable one here.
You haven't even put out a single article past this Gold Series one, and you've got 4 writers. What are they doing if not writing? I had hopes for this place. I really, really did. I guess my hope was misplaced.
Thing is, UniMetagame is actually on holidays, and due to him being the only one able to post articles on the site, we're stuck because of that.
Sorry for the disappointment.
I wasn't counting the tournament reports.
I was specifically referring to articles and on that level I posted more than the side writers, not the editor.
~~~~~~~~~~
Izual is also right on his above post. Not all writers have access to the site and for something to hit the main page it gets edited and posted through 1 or 2 people.
Because I'm on vacation and without internet, I wasn't able to post those articles but they will be posted soon, now that I have access.
In the future more people will have access to the main page so as to solve this problem.
Good thing, UniMetagame. And the sooner, the better.
But it's also true that the people coming on the forum will have access to more articles, as not every of them is posted here.
Just don't say you're better than metagame, since you have no proof whatsoever with which to back up your claims. You can advocate the "innovation" of this game all you like, but you better not bash the likes of metagame, which covered every single aspect of the game, including:
- Gameplay/Mechanics
- Card Rulings
- Card reviews/combos
- New and interesting decks
- Tournament coverage
- Practice methods
- Set previews
I'd say a more fitting name for this site would be "tier2metagame," since that's all you cover - tier 2 decks. I found it especially funny that you were covering a card like Qal'at, only to know that it will end up on you guys' so-called "blacklist." It's also funny to see you covering Apprentice Monarchs, which are one of the more inflexible decks you can have.
That's all I feel like ranting about right now.
When you devote an entire article to explaining different combos with Apprentice Magician and explain that it's another engine that can be used in Monarchs, you're covering Apprentice Monarchs.
Based on the comments from UniMetagame, it seems like they're tooting their horn quite a bit.
I never said you guys didn't cover other categories. You just never cover Tier 1 decks, which I can understand for the gist of this site.
Explain to me how Black Feathers promote innovation and creativity.
1) We never covered apprentice monarchs.
That alone shows how trustworthy and reliable the above posters information is.
2) We've never claimed to be better than metagame.com. This site was actually designed to succeed next to metagame and provide coverage it didn't.
It was never meant and still isn't meant to replace it. We've kept our original focus which you can read about on our declaration of independence.
3) All of the above examples of discussion you mentioned for metagame have also been discussed on this site. For card rulings refer to our forums which has a database of information.
4) Blackwings have been out for months now and we still don't feel it's necessary to blacklist them.
Another example of where your logic fails.
~~~~~~~~~~
All and all the above writer simply doesn't know what they're talking about and probably just felt like ranting.
I hope you let it all out on that last comment :)
An entire article was devoted to apprentice magician and there was less than a paragraph mentioned about Apprentice monarchs.
99% of the article had nothing to do with monarchs, thus it isn't about apprenice monarchs.
~~~~~~~~~
Thank you for admitting that we do indeed cover many aspects of Yugioh and the metagame.
You also understand why we don't cover Tier one decks much, so no need to explain that.
~~~~~
Blackwings are currently creative because they haven't been shoved into one deck type yet and there is more room for innovation with them.
If every one particular build of it is overused and abused, than it will be blacklisted but that isn't the case.
Til then feel free to play blackwings, the Unimetagame team encourages it's continued innovation.
Wow, way to delete my post.
