(If the TCG exclusives in Ancient Prophecy don't save the set then it'll be on Stardust Overdrive to keep Yugioh going at full speed til the end of 2009. The first look definitely seems promising.)
Before we get started I'd like to dispel a lot of rumors going around about this pack and they mainly come from one source.
A reputable site known as shriek has posted an article saying that there are 2 confirmed lightsworn cards in the set Stardust Overdrive. The problem with this was there was literally no other info posted. Not the number of the card or the name. There wasn't even a source as to where shriek got this info from.
Normally, if you've seen this site before, shriek is just a place that takes the Shonen Jump Magazine and places it online. 99.9% of it's articles pertain to news and basically all of them stem from that magazine.
So it's a good site for reputable news but when they post articles saying there are 2 new lightsworn cards in Stardust Overdrive and again they post absolutely no proof about it, and it definitely isn't mentioned in the Shonen Jump Magazine, then people get skeptical.
From all the research myself and my team have done there is absolutely no evidence as of now to suggest that any lightsworn cards will be in the new set. If this changes we'll inform you immediately. Til then I encourage every Yugioh player in the community to contact shriek and ask him what his source is.

Set Release:
The exact date is unconfirmed but we do know Yugioh follows a strict schedule of posting packs every 3 months. The pack before this one was released in September so this set should be released near the end of November or early December.
As for the OCG, Konami's asian branch that gets packs before us, they will have this set on July 18th of this year.

Final Thoughts
I'm hoping this next set will be much better than Ancient Prophecy. Soon we'll give you our review of that and sadly it seems there arn't many promising cards in that set. I'm guessing Konami will make up for it in this one; only time will tell.

The Stardust Overdrive spoilers come from Kevin Tewart on a pojo YGO thread. He said it himself that LS are getting two new cards.

After seeing the thread, Shriek's post makes sense. But truthfully he himself should have posted a link to that thread.
Regardless though we now know the source and Kevin Tewart is a trusted Konami worker so if he says 2 lightsworn cards are being released, then they definitely are.

How many peoply (aside of you - who as seems, dont know much of reliable ppl from yogi ) want to know it really? Shriek posts up to 1-2 Articles per day and you ? Sorry but for me you have no right to distrust a person that reliable. You even not earned the right to be SEMIMETAGAME. (Unique - a joke but very bad one). People who knows about the game knows the sources and knows that shriek is all rightand thrustworthy. You not. And now I know for real that you are fraud. It is the last time I m here. Seriously, can't people stop complaining ? There are TWO people working on the site, don't expect them to work faster than the Metagame team, who had way more writers for them.

Also as someone mentioned above, currently we only have 2 active writers. The rest of our team isn't writing and we don't really force them.
Even with that though I'm working extra hard to compensate. The only other thing I can say is I'm giving all I have, especially while I'm on vacation out of the U.S til August 16th :).
I'll be back in California soon though and continue updating the site while I'm away.
Also, Shriek posts all yugioh info, he doesn't "Copy shonen jump". He doesn't even get it. he lives in the UK.
Isn't it bad form to judge someone and then still borrow info from their site?
Magikarp is right that Shriek doesn't even get SJ, but Shriek isn't in UK, he's in Germany and English isn't even his primary language (I even been to his city but didn't have time to meet him.) Germany doesn't get any JUMP, the closest they have is BANZAI which used to occasionally have Yu-Gi-Oh! promos in it. Not to mention, what you unfairly and untruthfully said doesn't hold when one ask "what about OCG news which often ISN'T from a JUMP first?"
Still, as someone I feel is a loose friend of mine (because we talk often enough about things beyond card games), I would think that was rather insulting and uncalled for; not to mention, when one judges someone on professionalism, "Physician heal thyself."
Also, just like you aren't the only one writing your blog, there are a few people working on both of Shriek and he works on theirs. Not every newspaper prints their source, especially when source requests or needs to be anonymous. It's like asking all of us here to submit our real names before we comment.

On top of being conflicting, A: the source was already known by the people who saw this post so there was no "finding" to be done and B: If it was capable of being "found" so easily, how is it you didn't find the source?
Anyway, I do, in fact, like your blog (forgot how I found it) regardless because I liked the direction it was going in with regards to being more open about what is out there to use and address the more subtle problems with the game (I love the spotlight section and I've been using Kelbek more because of it), but for someone who keeps posting from other people and then to attack one (because anyone would take offense to that and you would never said it to his face so disrespectfully), that "wasn't a very good show" and I had given you a lot more credit than that before.
If you had a problem with his source, why didn't you simply NOT post the info on your blog and ask him first until you felt more confidence in said source? I'm more than certain he would have answered if you asked him with respect.
Sorry for being very brazen but I feel you were being just as harsh without justification and it needed to be address for the sake of a friend's honor. Just stating what I felt needed to be because I honestly don't think that was the right thing to do.

This was more of a post on frustration because a lot of people took that article of shrieks and ran with it.
It was correct,it turns out, and it had a source, but It bothered me that about 20 or 30 people I knew kept saying ancient prophecy had lightsworn support but weren't able to source anything besides shrieks article.
We did do the research and were unable to find anything. So that's when the frustration got let out into this post where we asked shriek to name his source as all good sites should do. *
Anonymous sources aren't really needed in yugioh.

As for talking to shriek before all this; there was no way for myself or anyone I knew to reach him.
I read he didn't post on his forums much and besides that I couldn't find any email that he uses often.
So in the interest of the Yugioh news community, I asked him, like i ask all sites, to source his content.
Maybe you could provide a way of contacting him.
In the end you must also see the intent was pure and it's one we should all strive for; where news sites source their material.
but what is the deal we are here to discuss about the pack not fight each other, anyway I think that the spellcater are truly the winners inthis set, and the effect of Norsewenko, Goddess of Salvation is simply scary, I can't wait for the release...
Okay so let me understand this to its entirety. I really think that Twilight or LightSworn are very powerful decks, besides the fact I PWN these decks, but..... They ban monster reborn, well thank god, another special summon for LS huh? So what about Crush Card Virus? That would help low level decks against LS, but these people are so smart they keep bringing back Malicious, so ofcourse it's easy to pop of on your 1st turn, because you can now run 3 D. Draws. Okay so let's limit mind control, now why would you do this when Dark Strike Fighter is out?? Oh, because you don't want me to take control and synch the LS monster you just want it to PWN. Now LS is getting 2 new cards? LOL, hahaha, oh, oh I can't take it anymore. I'm getting seriusly annoyed with Yugioh lately!
