Favorite card in Ancient Prophecy 15 card preview? - Poll Results

(Our third poll has now finished and the results once again are a surprise. That's exactly how polls should be though and if you could always predict them there would be no fun in having them.)

So lets quickly get to the results and do a little analysis:

Of the 15 cards in our Ancient Prophecy Preview, which was your favorite?

Ancient Forest
20 (28%)

Flamvell Counter
2 (2%)

Jester Confit
7 (10%)

Turbo Cannon
8 (11%)

Turbo Rocket
3 (4%)

Other Card
30 (42%)

(Percentages were rounded down to nearest whole number, which created less than 100%. No one likes reading 22.4% or 10.2%. The exact percentage can be calculated by taking the number of votes for a particular card and dividing that number by the total votes which was 70. Then technically you have to multiply by 100 to get the exact number, but most people should visually see what the percent is simply by moving the decimal place 2 places. So Ancient Forest's exact percentage is 20 votes/70 total votes or 28.57%)

Rankings

They rank by vote as follows:
  • 1) Other Card - 42%
  • 2) Ancient Forest - 28%
  • 3) Turbo Cannon - 11%
  • 4) Jester Confit - 10%
  • 5) Turbo Rocket - 4%
  • 6) Flamvel Counter - 2%

Analysis

My personal favorite, again in the interests of openness was Flamvel Counter but as you can see it only got 2 votes :D.

I also encourage all who participated in the poll to write in the comments which card they choose as the other card so we can analyze why they feel that card is the best of the 15 reviewed.

As we saw though, the Gladiator Beast's favorite new field card Ancient Forest, racked up a huge number of votes, taking nearly 30% of the vote.

Again that was a huge surprise, as was the large percentage of votes for Jester Confit. As mentioned in the article, there was a lot of support for Jester Confit although I felt most of the community might disagree. It's good to see that we all understand the amazing potential in that card as well as the obvious power reeking from it.

Imitation

They say Imitation is the greatest form of flattery or as Charles Caleb Colten put it, "Imitation is the sincerest of flattery."

Everyone here at UniMetagame then would like to extend a great thank you to our friends over at Yugiohforums.com because it seems they only want to flatter us :

They put up a poll like we did and amazingly enough choose the same exact question for it.
What also amazes us is the fact that they put up the same exact answers in the same exact order! Could this be mere coincidence? :D Of course not.

So again to our friends at Yugioh forums, we extend one more thanks and hope next time you give us some credit where credit is due. After all there was no mention of us in your announcement of the new poll:

1) our forumhome sidebar displays newest threads (this is different from newest posts) as well as a site poll and any additional links we want to post.

By the way, would it have been so horrible to allow non forum members to vote in the poll? We have no problem with it here and we track who has voted using their I.P's so it's fairly safe as well.

We just feel that the more input we get from our viewers, the better, and the stronger the community. To be fair they might have instituted that policy to strictly control votes and make sure there were no voting irregularities.

But may I remind them that it's not very hard to make 2 accounts on their forums and vote twice, or 3 times, or 4 if you wanted to. So even restricting voting to members only isn't the final answer to voting irregularities.

Regardless though, we were flattered that they came to us for content and hope in the future they give us a bit more credit.

New Poll

Our newest poll is a powerful one especially before the new ban list. We ask simply, "Which of the following cards would you ban?"

The choices are:
  • 1) Monster Reborn
  • 2) Crush Card Virus
  • 3) Judgment Dragon
  • 4) Charge of the Light Brigade
  • 5) Heavy Storm
  • 6) Dark Armed Dragon
  • 7) Mirror Force
  • 8) Brain Control
  • 9) Torrential Tribute
  • 10) Blackwing Armor Master
  • 11) Rescue Cat
  • 12) Test Tiger
  • 13) Solemn Judgment
  • 14) Dark Strike Fighter
  • 15) None of the Above
* As an added bonus we are allowing as many choices as you like. So if you want 10 of the 14 cards listed banned you can vote for all 10.

The poll will run for about a month (29 days) and will close on the 19th of August.
If cards that you want banned are not on the list then comment below quickly and we'll change the poll. But once the poll has more than 20 votes it will be locked in and no changes can be made to it. So comment fast if you want a card on that list.

Remember that you can vote for as many cards as you want, if you want more than one card banned.

Also there are cards on there that probably no one wants banned, such as Heavy Storm, but we added them to the list simply to give people more choices and have most of the powerful cards on the list.

We couldn't have a list of powerful cards without heavy after all, so that was our reasoning for adding cards like that and torrential tribute; both staples in most decks. Again we know it's highly unlikely either of them will get high amounts of votes for banning and we also know most of the community probably doesn't want them banned; including us.

Until next time, enjoy voting and check out the UniMetagame forums where you can discuss the new ban list and always stay connected to us; 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
