Stats of the card :
Type : Dragon
Attribute : Water
Level : 8
ATK : 3000
DEF : 2500
Effect : Negate the activation of any Spell or Trap that targets this card, and destroy that card. When a face-up monster you control is selected as an attack target, you can send 1 Spell or Trap Card you control to the Graveyard to change the target to this card.
Where to play this card :
Obviously, any deck that can Special Summon it will welcome it hands down. My preference will go to Dragon decks, due to Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon, King Dragun and Decoy Dragon all be able to Special Summon it.
Advantages of this card :
- The type. Being a Dragon, as I said earlier, allows it to be Special Summoned with REDMD and King Dragun's effects, while warranting it the protection King Dragun can offer, although it is one of the very rare Dragons not needing it.
- The level. 8 is a good number, both for Trade-In and Advance Draw, and it, coupled with its type, allows it to be Special Summoned via Decoy Dragon.
- The attack. 3000 is nothing to laugh about, and such ATK will allow it to replace Dark Horus in some Hopeless Dragon variants.
- The effects. The first one allows it to walk unprotected, as it'll give itself any needed protection, while the second one allows it to protect weaker monsters whose effects could complement his, like Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon, who can summon little monsters in order to clean its path for direct attacks, or Prime Material Dragon/Stardust Dragon, which will protect it from untargetting effects.
Disadvantages of this card :
- The attribute. While not being Dark nor Light allows it to work well alongside Koa'Ki Meiru Drago, it also disable cards like Allure of Darkness or Honest to work with it.
Cards to play for supporting this card :
Obviously, Dragon-type monsters will be great with it. That means monsters able to Special Summon it (Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon, King Dragun, Decoy Drago), or whose effects will work together with its (Prime Material Dragon, Stardust Dragon, Koa'Ki Meiru Drago).
My thoughts on this card :
I was waiting too much for it to be released, and now we'll have it as a Secret Rare ? I'm sure it'll cost a lot of money, but that's linked to how powerful this card is in any Dragon deck, or in any deck running a high number of low-level monsters whose effects will make your opponent want to crush them. Definitely a must-play card that'll be seen in a lot of decks.
