Back when Zaborg first came out and when Sorcerer was also legal, these &amp;quot;field-clearing&amp;quot; monsters started to become popular. You&amp;#39;d generally Solemn the summoning of a monarch to lose half your life and gain your opponent&amp;#39;s monster and Normal Summon.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Now, the game trends has shifted to such an aggressive style of play that Solemn is now used as a hugely aggressive card that says NO to your opponent stopping your big pushes. You see, Solemn is indeed the most balanced card in the history of the game, as it simply promotes any current game trends. So apart from listing cards. CoSR means that any card that would SS from the graveyard is hindered/exploited because CoSR would be around to overpower it. As well as turn that card into a target for a restriction if too heavily used.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;CoSR gone? You no longer can turn that Good SS-ing card into a +1-ing advantage beast.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Mezuki is semi-limited because on it&amp;#39;s own. It&amp;#39;s great themed revival.
